Production Process

     Sista's Serenity, as a project went through many phases. Both the mobile application and marketing animation started as on-paper sketches. Each step of the creation process of this project was completed in its corresponding Sprint. Each Sprint included its own set of goals to help me stay on track with the production of this project. The Sprints were from 0 to 4.

Sprint 0

     Sprint 0 was all about gathering information and setting the proper foundation for this project to be the most successful and effective. The following information was obtained during Sprint 0:

The name of the project was decided: Sista's Serenity
This name was decided on to have a name that represented a peaceful and free place for Black Women. 
Tagline: "No need for tears or fears when your Sistas are here."
Color Scheme and Palette:

To highlight the toxic masculinity that exists within the Black Community, a multitude of toxic text messages that some Black Women have received from Black Men were obtained. Some of those screenshots can be seen below:

  • Find a Therapist Near Me
  • Domestic Violence Resources 
  • Methods of Self Care

Sprint 2

  • The basic layout of the application pages and graphics for animation are designed and completed using Adobe Illustrator.

  • The final draft of the poem is complete.

  • A list of Black Women is created and those Black Women are contacted and audio is then collected.

Sprint 3

The animation and application are close to being completed.

Sprint 4

The project is complete.
