My name is Hyllary T. Bell and I am from Reidsville, NC. I am a graphic designer and photographer who received a Bachelor of Science degree in Graphic Communication Systems, from North Carolina A&T State University of May 2019. North Carolina A&T State University is where I also majored in a double concentration of graphic design and CADD design. My creative philosophy is to always make a strong statement with every piece of work I create. If there is an issue going on in the world, I believe it is my job to bring awareness to it. I aim to tell a powerful story within all of my designs, photos, and videos. I strive to make my designs bold and provocative from the colors to the message I am trying to convey within each creation. One of the subjects I am most passionate about is women's issues and the majority of my designs reflect this. I say this while quoting former first lady and presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton: "Women's rights are human rights". For this project, Sista's Serenity, I chose to specifically focus on Black Women and some of the mental and emotional health issues they experience throughout their lives. Along the way, I am highlighting the toxic masculinity that exists within the Black Community and the fact that this often directly and negatively affects the mental health of Black Women. Although, I am very passionate about the field of Graphic Communications and Interactive Media, my first love is and will forever be poetry. I​ became a published poet at the age of 16 and I have continued to perfect this craft ever since. Therefore, I decided to combine my poetry skills with my technical design skills to create something complex, provocative, informative, and beautiful for this powerful project I call "Sista's Serenity".
